=> Introduction to Breadboard/Project Board:

Although the breadboard has bread in its name, it actually has nothing to do with bread or food. Breadboard is a special type of board for circuit prototyping which helps in building projects quickly. Hence its other name is Project Board. above is the picture of the breadboard

The holes visible on the redboard are for component placement. In the middle there are 2 rows of holes connected perpendicular to each other. The upper and lower rows of holes are connected side by side. The matter can be better understood by looking at the picture given above.

=> Breadboard Details:

The 5 holes of 1 row of middle holes are connected vertically. But one row adjacent to it is not connected to another row.

Again the bottom 50 holes are connected side by side, but the top and bottom rows are not connected.

There is a gap in between, this gap is equal to the distance from one leg of the IC to the other. And the lines on either side of this gap are not connected. That's why IC can be installed at this place. The gap in the middle will not short out the pins on either side of the IC.

The top and bottom rows of the breadboard are usually used as common power lines and the components are placed in the middle.

Some breadboards also have a break between the power lines. The ones with breaks keep a little more distance between the two rows in the middle.

Breadboards have the advantage that the components do not have to be permanently soldered. May be removed at any time. So breadboard is very useful for rapid prototyping.

How To Connect Breadboard?

A special type of wire called jumper wire is used to connect one point to another on the breadboard. It is also sometimes called header wire. Jumper wires are actually thin normal wires. Both ends have rigid pins sticking out of the plastic housing. This pin is inserted into the hole of the breadboard.

How many types of jumper wires are there?

1. Male to Male – Pins emerge from both ends of this type of jumper.

2. Female to Female - This type of jumper has pin insertion at both ends.

3. Male to Female - One end of this type of jumper has a pin coming out and the other end has a place to insert the pin. What can I use instead of jumper wires?

Many people use Ethernet cables or Cat5 cables because jumper wires cost a bit more. Again solid core copper wire can be used.

How is the cost of the breadboard?

Breadboards come in a variety of sizes and vary in price depending on quality and size. Small mini breadboards are available for Rs 50-100 and standard sized ones are available for Rs 150-300. Good quality ones are more expensive.

How to identify a good breadboard?

 => In a good quality breadboard, the power line is marked which is positive and which is negative etc. And all breadboards have double sided tape on the bottom. The breadboard can be permanently mounted by opening the cover.

=> Basic Electronics Circuit with Breadboard:

Let's make a circuit on a breadboard. Since this is our first circuit on a breadboard, we will be making a very simple and working circuit, the Dark Detector. The components we will need to build the circuit are -

=> Ingredient List:

1. BC547 Transistor - 1

2. LDR - 1

3. 5k/10k/50k/100k potentiometer

4. Any resistor within 500Ω (optional)

5. LED
